Copy/clone project

Is it possible to copy/clone a project to another one? Now I have another
project, which is very similar to the current one, even the directory
structure. But the root directory is different. I do not want to create new
project from scratch again. Any easy ways to clone a project?

I do this all the time. I just copy the project files, and hand-edit them to change the path to point at the new directory.

For example, I might have a project in:

c:\views\asnap_mpkirby\psip\asnap_mpkirby.ipr

I just copy it to:

c:\views\bsnap_mpkirby\psip\bsnap_mpkirby.ipr

and then edit the file (%s/asnap/bsnap/g)

There used to be a setting to store paths relatively, but that feature seems to have disappeared.

By the way, I have not been able to get this to work when copying projects to other people's machines. For some reason it doesn't like it.

Manual file editing is for geeks ;)) Yep, I just copied the project file it
works, but looks like IDEA does not have a service to do this routine
operation from within the IDE. I guess I will file a request. Thanks, Mike.
