I just checked the console for aurora 896, and there are some exception
stackdumps there, but I didn't get a dialog telling me there was an error,
and my firewall didn't alert me that idea was trying to report it over the
net. This looks like theres a problem, shall I file an SCR?

Hello!

For important exception it should open the error dialog where you
could enter some error description and also your ITN login/password for
sending this problem directly to ITN IDEA tracker.

It's not fully automatic process cause it require a button push for sending.
Also you can cancel sending.

Also much better this way, so we know a problem ocurred and we are reporting it. Also, does it deal with duplicates?

Yes, a simple algorithm of duplicate statistics analyzing implemented.

What do you consider "important exceptions"? I'm dealing with one that I consider to be very important (my libraries are not parsed at all... so basically IDEA is useless to me at the moment) and I'm not seeing this dialog... the log file, however, shows a NullPointerException error. I'd think that would be an "important exception" or am I missing something (like maybe a priority level or something)?

Hi!

Exception politics has been changed :)
Now all thrown exception are important and will be catched by
error-reporting system.

Ok. So I take it that this will be included in the next build? There was something wrong with the automatic error reporting in build 896 right?

I just have a curiosity question about the implementation though: Will it have some sort of automatic "duplicate detection system" so you don't get flooded with reports? I suggested (in another thread) a system where people could enter their own comments when sending the error report but on the server side there would only be created one report (the first one) and all other reports would only be added as comments to that first bug report. Will there be any such thing?

Yes, you're right :)

Currently implemented a simple duplicates detection mechanism. And if
duplicate exception found than
only user error description will be posted as a thread comment.
