IDEA-UIDesigner is on a wrong way!!!
hi,
i post this message because i noticed the wrong way idea goes with his UIDesigner. if JetBrains develop any longer in this way, i don't know how it ends with idea! i love this ide, but the way JetBrains goes with its UIDesigner is defently the wrong way:
- you must work with idea if you use the UIDesigner. sure they develop on a ant-task but what's up with people how can't use ant or wouldn't use ant?
- if you use the UISourceGenerator-plugin( http://www.intellij.net/forums/thread.jsp?forum=32&thread=36401&tstart=0&trange=50 ) you can work with other ide's(eclispe...) hypothetical. but you must include the forms_rt.jar file because the UIDesigner use his OWN (idea-)LayoutManager. that's so worse!!! IMHO you should be independent from a ide, a project should only needs the jdk and not ide-specific classes!!! that's the great problem with C++ Builder from borland, if you create a project in C++ Builder you can't work on it in another C++ ide, because it needs a lot of Borland-specific classes. please don't use idea-specific classes. if i create a project, i only wnat to link my jdk to the project, not some idea-jars...

Hi Alain,
Sadly I wish that some Java developers left the UI alone.
I am not saying that developers cannot create a basic dialog but when it comes to the user experience this should be left to
1) A HCI person
2) if not (1) at least someone who does care about the user, has good generic design skills and eats his own dog food, ;-).
