CVS - Local repository Vladimir Goncharov Created June 05, 2003 19:46 Cannot connect to the local repository, the CVSROOT is set to :local:c:\CVSLocalRepository the winCVS works with out any problem.
local repositories are not supported by IDEA. And shouldn't be used anyway, unless you got a crash for corrupted repositories.
Solution: set a pserver on your machine and use CVS thru the pserver.
I've been using a local CVS repository for three years with absolutely no problems --- until I upgraded to 823, which removed CVS :local: support.
:local: support was removed in 818, when IDEA ceased to use an external CVS executable and started being a CVS client itself.
Don't flame me here but... wouldn't the local VCS be enough for you?
I'm just asking because I don't know... I don't use the local VCS because I have a dedicated CVS server.
Is there a plan to reintroduce :local support in a coming beta?
