Build 856 Performance :)

Before I upgraded I timed how long it took to load idea build 833. From double click to tip of the day was 71 seconds.

Now with build 856 double click to tool tip is 26 seconds.

These times are very rough estimates done with a stop watch, but they is definatly a noticable performance gain with this release. Anyone else seeing similar results.

Might be due to 1.4.2 or maybe jetbrains has done some optimizing already ?

I too noticed the time spent optimising during startup was MUCH improved since 833.

The garbage collector also looked a lot more active, but I haven't used 856 long enough yet to make any further judgement.

First impressions are good though!

It's optimizing, not JDK 1.4.2 :))

Sweet! Way to go guys! Yeah it's been super smooth, and am absolutely
enamored with CVS impl. Man that thing is really starting to make all other
CVS impls pale in comparison.
