New build ?

Vladimir, where is the promised new and fresh build ?
When do you plan to release it ?
There is an annoying bug that has been fixed recently (could not run or
compile) and I'm longing to work on that build.
It's boresome to have to restart IDEA every hour :(

If JetBrains will refresh new hotfixes every day, then you will restart you
new IntelliJ more often...
Let them to take a short rest and you will forget about restarting, i guess.
Just wait :)

Not everyday, of course, but at least once every other week.
Or if we were lucky, once a week.
But it's two weeks since the last build.
And this annoying bug is really a time killer.

Guillaume

PS: and that's the first time that I ask for a new build :)

Guillaume,

If there's no new build - there are strong reasons not to publish it,
believe me.

As for me, if i find new build is very unstable i rollback to previos
working and wait until new build is not fixed my critical bugs. If you cant
developer with pleasure in this build, try use previos :)))
I guess, new build is comming soon, threrefore, becose Eugene says that it
will be aviable on days.
I think the long delay becose JDK 1.4.2 is issued, maybe JetBrains deeply
test IntelliJ on new JVM, i don't know, i just wait :))

If you havent previos build, i have 823,828,833, and 3.0.5 for Windows
platform, i can send it to you.

Thanks!

This I am doing. The last stable build is my good old 3.0.3, that I'm
using for 95% of the time since Aurora is released. In Ariadna EAP it
happened ones in a while, that a build must be skipped because of
instability, but I never needed to go back to 2.5. For Aurora it's
completely different: I could not use any Aurora build for serious
development (== stable for more than a half hour), because of their
significant instability.

I'm sorry... but I'm really curious as to what those reasons are.

A few days ago Eugene said that you guys might try to create a build that evening (this is 2-3 days ago) and it's not up yet. This must mean that there is something big holding you back.

As I said... I'm just really curious to know what that sort of a problem this is... someone mentioned that you might be having some legal issues that you need to sort out? Is IDEA bundling something that has a weird licence? Or maybe these are just plain old technical problems now?

Again, sorry for the questions... I know that you must not like these... I'm just really curious. :o)

maybe we'll find out when they post the next weekly status. I someone had posted something about some legal issues with generics.

Guillaume, not everything depends on me :) There is a lot of work at
"generics", "ui designer", "cvs", "hot swap", "JDK 1.4.2 migration", etc
fronts. That is the reason of delay. Believe that want to release build
not less then you, because each public build is a good start point for
new development.

With best wishes,
Vladimir Kondratyev

Or they decided to take a break and not release in favour of staff
drinkies :)

I was a bit impatient. Sorry. That bug really got on my nerves that day... I
apologize !
Honestly, I find that IDEA becomes better and better, and all the new
features are really great.
Thank you Vladmir for your answer. Keep up enjoying us with fairly good
qualitry builds ;)

In the nearest eap build that feature will not be included due to some
'political' issues :)

Yes, I want to know. Is Al Qaeda behind it? ;)
