Which CVS client is used by Aurora ?

In Ariadna IntelliJ used CVS NT as the CVS client. We had configured this CVS client so that parallel edits were not allowed. (We used the .cvsrc file in the cygwin home directory to configure this). When setting up the cvs client in Ariadna this configuration was picked up automatically.

In Aurora the CVS integration has been changed apparently. There is no way to specify a particular cvs client, so I assume there is one built in (?).

However, now our "reserved edit configuration" does not work anymore, since it was configured with CVS NT.

How can we configure the Aurora's CVS integration so that parallel edits of the same source files are not allowed ?

Kind regards

A modified JavaCVS (from Netbeans), that SmartCVS uses.

Technically it's possible.

Hi Thomas,

If it is technically possible - will it be done ? Can it be done now ? How ?

The possibility for reserved edit is very critical to our project. Since it was possible in Ariadna by configuring the CVS client accordingly, this possibility should not be ommitted in Aurora.

If it is not possible to do with the JavaCVS client, I would prefer to use the former CVS NT client in Aurora.

Without reserved edit possibility we probably would have to discontinue the usage of IntelliJ in our project.

Well, only Olesya can decide...

How can I convince her / him ?

Yes, at least put put back the option of using an alternate CVS implementation... I have a MacCVS implementation which can use proxies to get through our firewall; for now I have to use the MacCVS GUI to handle edit/commits.

Technically it's possible.

Tom

regardless of the Aurora implementation,
how is that accomplished with plain CVS ?

When I last checked CVSNT 2.0.3, it worked just partly.
