Disable automatic upload

Hi

I have a php project with deployment option on a remote server.
Usually this works fine, with one exception:

Every once in a while, phpstorm starts a background progress uploading the whole project. It looks like this:

automaticupload.PNG

I didn't initiate it, I don't need it, I only want to upload files I explicicly save or rightclick->deployment->upload.

So, how do I disable this?

Here are my deployment options:

Hi there,

Please choose "Never" for "Upload changed files automatically" option.

This way you will always have to manually invoke "Upload" or "Sync with Deployed" in order to transfer your files.

Possibly it is caused by your actions, e.g. changing branch in VCS etc...

Will it still upload files on Save? (STRG+S) I really need this funciton. ONLY being able to deploy changes via manually invoking Upload/sync is not an option. (too much of a hassle)

I am positive, that VCS actions are not the cause. I was checking if a correlation exists, haven't notice one related to the git operations yet, which ONLY happen through ssh when I execute them. Automatic upload functionality seems to happen unrealted to that.

Thanks,

No.

I may only suggest to assign some shortcut to "Upload" action -- it will save uploaded file before uploading.

Ok thanks. Unfortunate, I will keep it the way it is and cancel the auto upload every time it comes up.

What is the best place to suggest a feature separating those two processes? (Auto-upload on STRG+S, Auto Upload once in a while)

The issue here is that it's not about feature request but about figuring out why it's happening as accordingly to your setting it should not (only on Save). There must be something that triggers this (correctly (i.e. it meant to work this way) or by mistake (and this should not be happening at all)).

I was thinking about VCS operations. You're saying that acordingly to your observations they are not related. Maybe it's File Watcher that triggers it (although it would not affect many files .. so unlikely).

In such conditions I may only suggest to submit a support ticket so that tech guys will collect more info to look into and then will advise if it's a bug or it works as intended (so that you may submit bug report or feature request ticket).

Ok, if you put it like this, I might need to recheck when the upload actually happens. VCS operations don't make much sense to me, since re-uploading all the local content to the server, after the server repository switched a branch or committed changes doesn't make much sense in my opionion (in fact, the opposite would make sense, since I handle my local repository as a project-cache)

In the meantime, does a feature request to separate remote triggers from STRG+S event make sense in terms of feature suggestion? Or do I still misunderstand what's going on? :D

Thanks for your help,

Sorry. I'm a bit lost here (in terms that I do not really understand what your request will be about).

In any case: if you want submit Feature Request ticket then feel free to do so at Issue Tracker.
