Project view/ Structure view switching

Switching between Project an Structure is very slow because IDEA proceed in the following scenario:
1) hides the first view
2) resize editor
3) shows the second view
4) resize editor

Because a limited screen space it is not comfortable to Show Structure option thus a fast way to switch between views could be valuable.
