License Server connection failure in Vista?

Hi all... my company recently upgraded our machines to Windows Vista, and now we can't get IntelliJ to connect to the License Server.

Is there are port I need to have opened in the Windows Firewall in order to successfully connect?

Just ran into this ourselves. It seems to be an IPv4/IPv6 problem in IDEA. Or rather in the VM. We had the same problem using jgroups in our product.

Solution is rather simple: add -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true to your idea.exe.vmoptions file. e.g.:

-Xms300m
-Xmx900m
-XX:MaxPermSize=99m
-ea
-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true
