How to turn off Jabber?

Our IT dept uses Norton Security to check for IM activity and Jabber keeps coming up as running on my machine. Ends up that IntelliJ 6 has added Jabber and I would like to turn it off as I do not use those TeamWork features.

Can this be done and if so, how?

Just uninstall the IDEtalk plugin.

Deleting the "ideTalk" folder in "<idea-installation-folder>/plugins" should do the job.
