Can anyone recommend a good code profiler?

Hello Stefan,

Can anyone recommend a good code profiler that integrates well with
IDEA and runs on OS X/Intel?

I've only used the (free) Eclipse performance tools. Buying something
for IDEA is not a problem though.

What does do people @ Jetbrains use when profiling IDEA?

I've been a satisfied user of YourKit for a number of years.
That is also the profiler embedded by Jetbrains for IntelliJ EAP releases
(for the "CPU/momery snapshot" functionality).

The current "best of breed" verdict seems to be JProfiler and YourKit. I'm a very satisfied user of JProfiler, and have been for about five years now. The integration with IDEA is extremely smooth.

At the moment there is an EAP program for YourKit 7.0.
If you still haven't made a choice, it would be a good opportunity to get
a feel for the product and the support for the development team.
