installation of IDEA

Trying to install IDEA (and also Together (for UML)), I got
this error message for both : " invocation of this Java Application has
caused an
InvocationTargetException. This application will now exit. (LAX)". So I
couldn't complete the installation.
What can I do? I have JDK 1.4.1_02 working on my computer.
Thanks for reply.

Cannot remember to have ever seen such behaviour, but here is an idea:
Could it be that your temp-diretory doesn't have sufficient free space for the installation files.
As far as I know the installation process consists of two major steps:
1. Unpack the installation files (Here you only see the progress bar)
2. Execute the installation program (Here you see the idea installation programm which guides you to the installation).
When you get the error in 1., it very likely a space problem.
Under windows there is a environment variable named TEMP that specifies which directory is to be used for temporary files. You could try to redefine it to point to another place with more space.
Hope this helps.
