CVS directory delete problem

I'm using build #6107 in Linux and I'm having a problem deleting a
directory from CVS using IDEA.

In the project window, I right click on a directory and select "delete".
I get asked if I'm sure then asked if I want to remove the files from
CVS as well. I say ok and it looks like it was successful.

If I now look in my changes window, there is nothing in the default
section (ie, there's nothing to commit). The directory I just deleted
does appear in my local changes section. The next update the files came
back again.

I was forced to go to the command line and do a 'cvs -Rf mydirectory'
then 'cvs commit' and this seems to have worked.

Any suggestions?

After deleting the directory do a commit on its parent directory. That should cause the directory delete to be commited. That is how I do it when using CVS.

For directory happiness Subversion works better. I just switched to a team that uses CVS, led an effort on my last team to switch from CVS to Subversion, I really miss Subversion now:-(

When I try to commit on the parent directory, IDEA tells me that there
is nothing to commit. In the "changes" panel, it only shows that the
directories have been locally deleted. The changes are not listed as
committable.

I do plan on converting our repository to SVN. Some problems with the
Eclipse and subversion have been holding us back.
