Hi,

I've installed build #813 under windows.
How can I do to hide the console on Windows?

you can't hide the console. it's standart in the eap-builds, because you can better copy the exceptions to add bugs in the tracker!!!

In /bin/idea.lax file there are 3 lines like this: lax.stderr.redirect=console Remove "console" from them all. -- Valentin Kipiatkov JetBrains, Inc http://www.intellij.com "Develop with pleasure!" "Jens Frederich" ]]> wrote in message

can you change the size of the console or make something that you can scroll to all the text that was writen to the console from the start of the current IDEA session??? because when the error message is to long(deep stack trace...) you can't copy it from the console!!!

If you right click on the icon in the top-left corner of the console window,
then choose properties, you will be able to set this. Go to the layout tab
and set the height of the screen buffer to some suitably high value (I tend
to use 1024). When you click OK you will be asked if you want the change to
apply to the current window only, or to the shortcut that started the
window; make sure you choose the latter.

Hope that helps,
Vil.

Although, I would suggest copying the exception and preceding error
messages from the idea.log file in the system/logs subdirectory of your
IDEA settings directory. More information for the IntelliJ guys so they
can fix your bugs faster ;)

in my case it was a exception from a plugin. it does not write the error messages(exceptions) in the log! :(

Ah, that's too bad. Plugins really should use the OpenAPI Logger class.
I use the following pattern in all my IDEA plugin classes:

private static final Logger LOG =
Logger.getInstance(MyClass.class.getName());

It makes for easy logging:

LOG.error("Oh my god! It blew up!", e);
