How do I exclude node_modules from code inspections and eslint?

I opened some js files in my ./node_modules/ directory to see how they coded some stuff in the modules I'm using. Now the entire node_modules directory is marked red (ALT+1 view on the left). Obviously I don't care about (inspection) errors in those modules!

How do I exclude them from inspections and from eslint?

I can't just set the directory as "excluded" in Settings -> Project: MyProject -> Directories because that would remove the modules from code completion too, if I understand this right.

This may or may not be an option, but the easier way I found to do this was simply to Right+click the source folder, and inspect.

This instructions here also seem to work, specifying different scopes: https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/207696445-How-to-exclude-node-modules-and-meteor-from-all-searches-and-code-inspections.
