Exclude file/directory with patterns (not ignore)

The key difference between exclude and ignore would be 'can see or not'
The ignore with pattern option makes pretty nice but if it was totally disappeared from the project navigation bar,
I'll forget and not consider the files anymore.
And it's a little bit different with the scope, because we can't use scope when we open the files with CMD+SHIFT+O

What I want to do is that
- I don't want to search or edit the file/directory
- But I want to see on the Project navigation
- There's so many files in the project so I need to apply that with patterns

Actually what I want to hide is Symbolic links,
I created a lot of symbolic links to be shared for small projects in my project.

Is there any idea?
Thanks in advance-

Excluded directories (marked as 'Exluded') are shown in the Project view by default, but
are excluded from search/indexing/navigation/etc. The only problem is that you can't use exclusion patterns and need to mark each directory explicitly. Related feature request: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-127753
