Add themes to PHP Storm 8.0.3

Hi there,

I am using the Darcula theme, I like the fact that the screen is dark, it more comfortable with coding.
The other themes are all bright and that does't work for me. However Darcula itself is not the greatest theme to use.
When using Git or SVN the colours of the file names change to green, red or blue. Unfortunately these colours do not sit well with the dark background of Darcula.

This results in unreadable file names.
So I thought I could download a theme and select thit one in the Appearance panel  (File -> settomgs -> Appearance & Behaviour -> Appearance).
However the only themes here remain Darcula, Alloy, IntelliJ and Windows.

It seems that you cannot upload new themes.
I can choose the newly added themes as a Scheme. But that won't change the red, green and blue colour of changed file names.

So can anyone help me with this?

Hi there,

Those are GUI Themes. They affect how whole window and window controls (buttons/etc) are rendered.

They are also knows as Look&Feel in Java world. And you can't really download and install your own (well, technically you can, but good luck making it work with actual IDE).

I can choose the newly added themes as a Scheme.

Those are Editor color scheme and mainly affects editor (syntax highlihting) as well as few other aspects.

But that won't change the red, green and blue colour of changed file names.

Yes, you can.

Settings (Preferences on Mac) | Editor | Colors & Fonts | File Status -- you can modify such VCS status columns there (P.S. You may need to create a copy of bundled scheme first (using "Save As..." button) as bundled schemas are not directly editable; your own copy of schema you can edit as you wish).
