VCS markers in right gutter

This has been driving me crazy, especially because I feel like I should
know the answer....

I have IDEA 6.0.4 installed on a Windows machine at work and on a Mac at
home. The configurations aren't identical, but they're close. I use
Perforce in both environments. On my Mac at home, the right gutter
contains markers that indicate differences between a file being edited
and the version that was checked out from Perforce. Those markers don't
appear on my work machine, and I can't seem to find where this behavior
is configured. Can someone point me to the right place? This is a handy
feature that I'd like to turn on on my Windows machine.

There is no configuration for this because the feature is always on. Do you
see the correct file status displayed for files on your work machine? Do
the files appear in the Changes view? Does the "Diff" action in the Changes
view correctly display the differences?

Yes to all of those questions. As far as I can tell, every thing else
VCS-related works just fine. One difference between the two
configurations is that at work I use an external diff/merge application.
But I tried reverting to the built-in diff tool and it made no
difference as far as I could tell.

Could you please add the following text to bin\log.xml, reproduce the problem,
and then create a JIRA request and attach the log to it?

Dmitry:

I found the problem. Somehow the background colors assigned to the
add/changed line markers got disabled (check boxes showed cleared in the
Colors & Fonts panel). I don't know when this happened, but I don't
recall that I ever saw these markers on my work machine. I've been using
the same configuration files through many EAPs and I'm wondering if at
some point these fields didn't get properly initialized when this
feature was introduced.

Anyway, there doesn't appear to be an issue to report. Thanks for
helping me track this down.
