difference between check in project and commit to repository???

wow, the new cvs integration is really great!!! but what's the difference between check in project and commit to repository??? and between check out project, update from repository and check out from repository??? please help me, THANKS!

Using "Checkin Project" you can see what changes will be commited to
repository and exclude some changes.
"Commit" is way to commit changes for single file.

"Checkout Project" allows to get from repository module or directory for
specified cvsroot, "Checkout from Repository" looks it up in the cvs admin
directory.

"Update" is the same operation as "cvs update".
