Modification attempt for refactorings and mass replace?

Does anyone know the number of IDEA bug where IDEA
doesn't call ModifAttemptListener for mass file changes
(like refactorings or search/replace in files) if they are read/only?

As a result, the VCS plugins cannot auto-checkout the needed files.
