New CVS Integration: descramble: unknown scrambling method

Hi,

Before I started this new EAP build, I deleted my config and system
directories so that it started with a clean config.

When I'm adding a CVS root for a project, I get the following popup
error after I click OK:

Connection Failed
Authentication failed: Response from server was: "cvs :
descramble unknown scrambling method".

Our CVS server is version 1.11.5 running on a RedHat Linux 7.0 machine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Gordon

I get the same, I am running a similar cvs version (1.11.5-FreeBSD), on
FreeBSD 4.8-RC

The other EAP builds had no problem with CVS... ideas welcomed!

I had the same bug using ip address of cvs server in cvsroot. Use hostname instead.

Doesn't help for me. I use the hostname, but get the same error anyway.

Same here. We have several separate repositories set up on the same server
(one for source code, one for project management stuff, etc.) and
interestingly I've been able to connect to the source code repository but
not any of the others. The difference seems to be that I already had files
checked out of the source code repository and had been accessing it through
IDEA prior to installing 809.

seems that you cannot have more than one connection,
i had the same problem, i had multiple clients open so i closed them until i had only one left.

I'm getting this as well.

Although it doesn't help me, this post may help the IntelliJ guys figure out what's going on:

I had this problem too and I think IDEA was sending an incorrect (or no)
password. I used WinCVS to log in to the CVS server and let it store the
password (.cvspass file) in my home dir. After that IDEA connected fine.

Hope this helps you,
Bas
