MacOS X 3.0.3 german keyboard curiosity Follow
A minor annoyance: while alt-5 and alt-6 do insert the brackets, alt-6 also opens the TODO window, shifting focus there. alt-7 open the structure view (besides inserting |), which requires setting the focus back to the editor window twice when entering a logical or (||) ...

alt-6 is defined as a shortcut for opening the to-do window. Workaround is to change the keymap for all window actions, e.g. alt-6 to alt-shift-6

We're going to remap all those Alt+ toolwindow navigation shortcuts to Meta+ for MacOS X keymap. Seems this would be clear solution. -- Best regards, Maxim Shafirov JetBrains, Inc / IntelliJ Software http://www.intellij.com "Develop with pleasure!" "bruno schaeffer" ]]> wrote in message

There also seems to be a bug associated with that. Removing or changing
the keyboard shortcuts does not keep IDEA from opening the windows (in
Aurora, I don't know about 3.0.3). Bug Id is #10931.

A huge annoyance with 698 is that every now and then when navigating aroudn with the keyboard, IDEA will insert an odd character in the editor as well as process the request. I've filed a bug for this with a detailed scenario on how to reproduce, but on the whole it makes 698 a REAL pain to use (random chars end up in all files if you open/close editors often). I'd strongly recommend that this build not be marked as a stable OSX release build.
For what it's worth I second that. There are still important issues to
be dealt with, including keyboard shortcuts and plugin issues which I've
already reported.

Man, I just discovered that if you press command + option + o to
optimize imports, it adds a funky character where ever the carret is at.
I also get some other funky chars here and there for no apparent reason
when using the keyboard.
Hanni is 100% right, 608 should NOT be an OS X release at all, these
bugs need to be fixed before you let it go.
Seems to me like it's time to get more than one Mac at IntelliJ to work
on by more than one engineer at a time. Or at least ask an engineer to
be on the Mac full time. (Just my opinion... for what ever it's worth)
