How do I create a JFrame with a working JMenuBar in idea 6.0?

Hi.

Is there any way to create a JFrame with a working JMenuBar using the gui builder in idea 6.0. I'm new to this IDE and so far I've only created JPanels, which is fine, but I want to use the gui builder to build the whole main frame of my application aswell. How do I go about doing this?

Cheers Martin

The current version of UI Designer does not support building frames and menu
bars. You'll need to write Java code to create the menu bar.

Have a loook at JFormDesigner, which is a very good GUI designer, able to create menubars as well. JFormDesigner is available as a standalone application and as an IntelliJ Plugin (with support of the IntelliJ layout manager).

We use JFormDesigner for GUI prototyping (standalone version) and GUI development (IntelliJ Plugin) with great success.

Kind regards
