Package file re-deploys war?

I used to be able to make changes to a JSP file, package it, and immediately see the difference when debugging the war through tomcat/intellij. Now in 6.0/6.0.1 when I package a file, even if it had a minor JSP text change, the entire app is shutdown/re-deployed.

This really slows things down. Is there a setting I am missing or something? Is this a bug? I really hope it wasn't taken out as it was a critical feature of version 5.

The behavior has changed since 5.x, but will be reverted back soon. The only workaround at the moment is to disable automatic deployment on Make in Settings | Compiler.

Watch this bug for progress: http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEADEV-10767 .

Hello Barry,

It's known bug. It will be fixed in 6.0.2.

I used to be able to make changes to a JSP file, package it, and
immediately see the difference when debugging the war through
tomcat/intellij. Now in 6.0/6.0.1 when I package a file, even if it
had a minor JSP text change, the entire app is shutdown/re-deployed.

This really slows things down. Is there a setting I am missing or
something? Is this a bug? I really hope it wasn't taken out as it was
a critical feature of version 5.
