Consolidating Mac OS X Feature Requests

Although the current DP10 is still in pretty bad shape I would like to
start discussing a few Mac OS related issues. Maybe we could come up
with a consolidated feature request list.

1. Mac OS X Keymap
I am pretty new to Mac OS X, but I have noticed a few "uncommon" or
"missing" key mappings. They might require changes within idea, so lets
collect them ;)

Search, Next (MetaF, MetaG instead of F3)
Hide Window missing (Meta+H)
Minimize Window missing (Meta+M)
Switch to other window (Meta+~, would be nice to switch between active
idea projects)
Keymaps for "Close", "Close all", "Close all but this" (Something like
MetaW, AltMetaW, ShiftMeta+W)

A quite a lot other non mac issue like MetaV to paste, but ShiftStrg+V
to access the clipboard.

2. Special Key Map for Powerbook?
Does anyone else don't like all F* key mappings? Shift + Fn + F6,
annoying. Don't know if there is anything which could be done against,
apart from having a special Powerbook(*book) keymap.

3. Override Meta Q
Since I don't develop GUIs in Java that often (and especially not for
Mac OS X) I don't know if it is possible to override Meta Q. Currently
idea will be force to quit, without saving anything. Again, I am new to
Mac OS X - and it happened to me more than once that I accidently close
idea while I want to see quick doc (STRG Q).

Anything else?

One more thing: Cut and paste in the editor follow Mac OS conventions (Meta-C, Meta-V, Meta-X), but in form fields I still have to use Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V and Ctrl-X. This cannot even be configured in the keymap options.

Please, post bug report about problem with Copy/Paste in text controls.
We fix them if we know about them.

This problem sounds like it's a duplicate of 2955:

This is a great idea Jens. When we get enough we should somehow manage to post them as bugs on Apple's Bug Tracker too.

I don't have anything glaring right now since I can't quite use IDEA because of the stupid return key not working. Once IntelliJ has a fix, I'll rock on the IDE and see what shakes out.
