i18n String Feature

I was just wondering about the i18n feature that was originally listed on the EAP feature list, but disappeared a few weeks ago. Will this be added sometime later? It would be a really great and powerful feature.

Same here. String resources and features like checking for orphan resource
calls and unused string resource could be great.

I totally agree on this. This feature is a 'must' have !

What I would really like to see is something like the Java Internationalization and Localization Toolkit (JILKIT). This will actually find all of the locations in the code where string constants are created. This would be relatively easy for it to be built into IDEA, since all of that type of parsing has already been done.

Looks like a nice plugin idea.

I would actually be willing to write this if I could get some nice pointers on where to get started from. I apologize for being lazy, but I just haven't spent enough time to actually go through API lately.

If you want this feature (as much as I do :) vote for Tracker #3899

Well, I actually have a plugin I've started to address some of the internationalization and localization features not present in IDEA. The current plugin, at the moment, will take a Java source file and externalize the strings for you. I'll post it to the plugin section of IntelliJ.org once I clean it up a bit.

I'm hoping to incorporate ideas and feedback from my book, "Java Internationalization".

How do I vote for a request? I have opened the this request in the tracker but when I clicked on the tab that says 'Vote' I was presented with a list of all requests that is 49 pages long.

When I entered the request number 3899 in the text box at the top that says 'Request #', it took me to the request itself. I again click on Vote... you get the idea.

Do I have to scroll through all the 49 pages before I could vote for this request?

Sorry if I missed something very obvious but I didn't use tracker before. Thanks.

Click on "Vote for this Request" (on the left, under the request number) and
not on "Vote".
