Should I really be single threaded? ;-)

There's a concept I can't quite grasp in IDEA yet: everytime I redo an operation, the previous results for the same operation are lost. Typically, if I run the same configuration twice, the results from the first run are gone.

Another example: I do a very useful "Find Usages" which populates a find window. Now I do a simple "Find in path" and bang, my previous usage results are gone.

The Find and Run windows seem to have panes already but only one pane per window is ever used at a time. Is there a way to enable multiple panes for multiple results? Or do I have to only work on one thing at a time? :)

Thanks for your comments,

Vince.

Have you tried checking the "Open in new tab" checkbox on the "Find..."
dialogs (its only sensitive if you already have a Find window open)?

How I could miss that option which was right in front of my eyes will remain a mystery. Thanks Kendall.

Is there something like that for the run results? I've looked again but I'm obviously missing it.

Thanks,

Vince.

I seem to get separate tabs in the Run window as a matter of course...

There's also an option to "Lock" the tab with the usages by right-clicking
on thetab with the mouse and choosing the corresponding option
All further search results will go into separate tab even if the "Open in
new tab" option is off.

Beautiful! And it works on the Run tabs too :)

Now, the Debug window...
Is there a way to extract tabs from the debug window? I'm dying to be able to see the Watches at the same time I'm keeping and eye on the console and on the frames.. Right now it's one tab at a time. I've right-clicked in many places to find the hidden option but without luck.

No, unfortunately it is not possible now.
There's a request in the tracker :

You are welcome to vote for it.
