Has speed and memory usage been improved?
I haven't downloaded a new EAP since b660. Now we're up to b674. Have the developers as JetBrains improved speed and/or memory usage since earlier builds? I hesitate to download new EAP because of new licenseing restrictions that I have read about on the forum.

A lot, It's much faster now imo.
That's good news.
However, I've also noticed that the licensing has become somewhat more restrictive. I think I read that upgrade pricing was going to be about 50% of full price. I realize that this is a major upgrade, but I'm not entirely certain I would want to pay some $200 or more for a version upgrade.
You are right. I suppose we should go purchase jbuilder where I would guess that the maintenance agreement is 20% of purchase price, not the outrageous 50% that IntelliJ requires.
Of course 20% of four thousand dollars is still 4 times the upgrade cost for IDEA.
If you aren't going to pay 200 dollars to upgrade from 2.6 to 3.0, then you probabaly aren't really using IDEA for how it is intended to be used. I would stick with 2.6.
Personally, if my company wouldn't fork out the money, I would pony it up myself. It isn't worth the mental anguish to use vi, or emacs any more.
