How to form a text?

Hello guys,

I had used Dreamweaver in the past, but since someone showed me Webstorm I never wanted to go back.
However there is one thing I miss in Webstorm, but I assume that I just didn’t found it yet.

When I’m putting text on my website with a special font, how to do you set line breaks?
In Dreamweaver I just have to switch to the Draft-View which offers me a stupid WYSWYG-view,
but for formating text it is just fine.

How do you manage these things?

Thank you!

Not sure I follow you... Do you miss a way to preview yopur page? What about hittingAlt+f2 to preview it in browser? You can also use Loive Edit to get the page updated immediately when you type - see http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/WI/Live+Edit

If I put line-breaks into my text in the code-view, it won’t work, because the monospaced typeface is different from my actual font using on my website.
I attached a image to make it clearer.

Well, I do understand that the font in editor doesn't match the one in browser, so that the resultant layout is different and you need to play with formatting to get the desired result. The thing I don't understand is the difference between previewing code in WYSIWYG and real browser. In both cases you type smth and then preview the result...

In Dreamweaver setting text is like in a Word-Document. I press Shift+Enter and I get my line-break.

If I’m using the live-view mode I have to CMD+V all my <br> attributes in the code and for every change
I have to move my eyes to the right side of my screen (browser) to see the results of my changes.
I think there is a big difference in convenience if you are not just line-breaking 3 sentences?

I see. But HTML WYSIWYG editor is not in our nearest plans, sorry. Please feel free to file a request for this feature (or reopen

We don't have any plans to support wysiwyg editing in WebStorm. You're  welcome to use another tool such as DreamWeaver if you need a wysiwyg  editor.

Wow, pretty arrogant and harsh. Its very stupid to demonize WYSIWYG in general.

Nevertheless, thank you! :)

Och really? But no, this was pretty normal, and clear answer. Arrogant and and harsh answer would most likely kill you.
