Should I buy yet?
I've been previewing JBuilder for about a year until a co-worker showed me this. I felt that idea 2.6 is good and comparable but I LOVE this new beta idea 3.0.
In fact I'm ready to buy. (JBuilder keeps heckling me to buy theirs.) However, If I buy an idea licence I'm covered for upgrades for eight months. Is idea 3.0 going to ship soon?
I can't find a release date anywhere for 3.0 but I will wait to buy because I really like it. This looks like it is close to shipping though. Can you give me some level of confidence that I can buy and still get the upgrade to 3.0?

The intellij folks have been wonderful when it comes to things like this. I'm pretty sure you can buy now and be able to use the shipping version of 3.0 (and probably the next version!) without having to pay for an upgrade.
3.0 is very close to release, probably within the next two weeks i'd guess?
:) That is what I heard two weeks ago.
It seems they are working on bug fix, performance tuning and pacakaging now. It probably will not take them more than 2 weeks from now.
It seems that current versions of Ariadna have reached the 'release candidate' stage of Idea 3.0. I would say you can be fairly confident about your purchase remaining valid for the next proper release of Idea.
