Unable to remove highlighting upon hitting "ESC" Intellij 4.5.4

Are you prehaps using the VIM plugin? As this is a known issue.

I make a "highlighted search" through ctrl-shift-F7 on a keyword. Now,
when I hit "ESC" to remove highlighting, it doesn't work. I would
like to hear if there is a solution for this.

Well, I tried after uninstalling VIM Plugin (which I wasn't using) + restart app, machine. But still doesn't work. Pls. let me know if you know a way to workaround this problem.
