Quick question Follow

This is something that has bugged me for quite a while...  Sometimes, I tend to have 2 or more PHPStorm windows open to work on different projects at the same time.  The one thing I have noticed is that if I am using composer on one of the projects, I am unable to do any work on the other 2 until the composer process has been completed...  Was this done by design?
