Weird Keyboard Shortcut Behaviour

I've had my keyboard shortcuts set up so Ctrl+Tab gives me my next editor tab, Ctrl+Shift+Tab moves back one. The tab order is based on the list at the top rather than most recent or anything like that.

A little while ago (maybe 3 months?) when I Alt+Tab out of PhpStorm then come back to it, sometimes Ctrl+Shift+Tab will actually open the previous tab in a new window, rather than in the same window (see attached screenshot). The file stays open in the main window, but also opens in a new window. I've tried looking through my mapped shortcuts to see what else is mapped to Ctrl+Shift+Tab, but there's nothing else mapped to it.

Has anyone seen this before, or have any idea what might be causing it? I'm running PhpStorm 7 on Mac (Mavericks).

Thanks :)

Hi there,

Preferences | Keymap

It has search functionality (by keyboard shortcut). Use it to check what actions have those key combos assigned.

Can you attach the screenshot? This one is unaccessible.
Also try File | Invalidate caches, that can be helpful.

Attached :) Also attached the Next Tab keymap.

I'm invalidating the caches now, I'll see if that works.

Edit: Nope, invalidated the caches, restarted and let it rebuild the cache, and it's still doing it :/

And can you maybe search for the name of the action? What shortcut is assigned for it? (e.g "Previous project window")

I'm not quite sure I follow what you mean - could you describe it a bit more please? Sorry :)

Sure. I jsut want to understand, whether your shortcuts were changed or not.

That's set to Cmd+Option+[ (or Cmd+Alt+[, depending on what you call that key).

So this is a default keymap.
Do you have maybe any other configured? (On the same "Keymap" window, there should be the list of all keymaps)

What was the trigger of this behavior, btw? Maybe you have upgraded? You didn't delete WebIDE70 folder (https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/entries/23358108)?

I'm not sure what the trigger was, I just noticed it happening and kinda dismissed it, then it kept happening and it's slowly been getting more and more annoying since then heh.

There are quite a lot of keymaps changed, mostly things I've unmapped. I've attached my exported keymap - it's probably the easiest way for you to see anything you're looking for I think. I can't see an easy way to get all the keymaps with a "tab" in them, the keystroke filter only matches exact keystrokes from the look of it.

Just one more question. Can you check out is there the custom keymap in this list (see attached)?

I don't have a "Default copy" list, but I have "Default", "Mac OS X" and "Mac OS X (10.5+)", all of which are completely unchanged from their default setups.

Bump, anyone? :)

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier.
Unfortunately I can not find similar issues or at least the explanation what happened exactly with your custom shortcuts.
For now I can suggest you set them up again, if the issue remains, contact directly support with idea.log (Help | Show log in explorer): https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/anonymous_requests/new .
