starting an existing non-IDEA project

I'm trying to import from cvs an existing non-IDEA project. I've failed horribly. Is there a way that I can do this?

Sorry, could you give a little more details about what exactly doesn't work?
Do you want to import your project into cvs? Or to check out it from cvs?
Maybe you cannot open checked out project?

Yes more information would be nice. Just so that you know I did the exact same thing and it worked great. So if you have any questions I would be happy to help.

I want to import an existing project into the ide. It doesn't have an intellij project structure.

I'm trying to check out my files and use them in the ide. I can check them out, but the IDE doesn't seem to recognize that they are in the project directory.

I just downloaded 4.5 to try out the GUI Designer. All our code
is in a CVS repository already. I was able to create a new project
with a single module, then I selected "Checkout from
CVS" to select my code, but I was not able to make IDEA recognize it
as part of the test project I set up.

I played with the paths, but the code did not "show up" in the
Project or Packages view.

Sounds like you haven't marked it as a "SOURCE" dir in the module paths?
