j2ee app tutorial

I have tried the online help and looked on the web and on the newsgroups and
so far I have no great understanding of how the j2ee app module is used with
(or without) the web module. I am using webmodules successfully -- eg by
using an exploded directory that I locate under weblogic where it needs to
go. But so far -- I have had no luck taking the next step to have IDEA
start my server/deploy my apps.

Is there a tutorial somewhere that I have missed? Is one planned?
