JetBrains: Please disable Guest posting
Assuming it is possible with Jive Forums maybe you should think about limiting Guest privileges to read-only.
There seems to be spammers posting to these forums every week or so these days and always they are guest posters, most likely the source is similar too since they are usually in Spanish or some other non-English language (Portuguese??).
Anybody who posts regularly should be able to register, I realize there are some legitimate members of the community who usually post as Guests but I'm sure these people will be willing to register if it helps control the spammers.

Is there a way to add authentication to the newsgroup posting?

Those are the newsgroup postings and they get shadowed to the forums
automatically. We haven't yet found a way to disable guest postings to
newsgroups yet unless making them moderated, which we simply will not
handle. Anyone knows a solution?

Depending on the nntpd you're using you can make it authentication a
requirement, supplying username/password ( its part of the NNTP specs ).

YahooGroups allows you to post through mail - opposed to using their web
interface - only if you registered your sender/reply address, in the
group setting section.
