Edit files directly on FTP

according to this post http://devnet.jetbrains.com/message/5306232#5306232 that is 3 years old. my question is the same..maybe something changed...

i have to work on different webshops. Somtimes i have to change tiny bugfixes or some HTML / CSS customizing

so i would be nice not to download the whole webshop files, if i only working on some of them...

Thanks for answer

Hi there,

Nothing has changed -- that ticket is not marked as "fixed" or anything like that.

You still have to download the file locally in order to edit it in IDE. But you do not have to download all files -- just download one that you need and edit it.

At the end of the day it's an IDE where you edit files locally and then upload results to test/production server later. If you mainly working with maintaining someone else's sites (quick edits here and there) then this software is most likely not suited for you (text editors like Notepad++. or alike will be better alternatives here).
