Show non-printable characters (Tabs)

Is it possible to make tabs visible like they are in the style settings. Where the tabs are shown with semi-visible arrows?

Hi there,

  • View | Active Editor | Show Whitespaces  -- affects current tab only
  • Settings | Editor | Appearance --> Show whitespaces  -- affects all (newly opened) tabs



Useful tip:
"Help | Find Action" (Ctrl+Shift+A) does pretty good job finding all of them when searching for "whitespace"

I do not see option "Show Whitespaces" in CLion

1. Well, you are in PhpStorm specific thread. CLion may indeed be different.

2. https://www.jetbrains.com/help/clion/settings-editor-appearance.html -- it's there

Try this:

  • Open CLion Settings (Preferences on Mac)
  • Type "whitespace" without quotes in the search box there -- it should narrow the available options
  • Navigate through all places until you find the desired option

Another approach: use Shift+Shift (Search Everywhere) or "Help | Find Action..." (Ctrl+Shift+A on Windows) and type the same there -- it will list available settings + actions that you can trigger (or go to) right from that screen. https://www.jetbrains.com/help/clion/searching-everywhere.html
