Web Resource Directories

Deleted entries in a web resource directory are not deleted in the corresponding deployment directory.
The same is true with entries in the classes directory. I would prefer to have this directories fully synchronized when making the project. Is there a way to this done thru IDEA?
Up to now i'm using my own Ant tasks to be shure to have the correct state in my deployment directory.
