WebStorm 7 - Automatic Package.Json Update....
Just as a test, I successfully installed Handlebars node module via the IDE. I checked package.json and it was not updated, do I have to do this manually via cmd line?

dop you mean that your package.json hasn't been updated when installing a new package? It isn't currently supported, so you have to update the package.json manually. Please see http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/WEB-9227
