J2EE API

Is there any chance at all of having the J2EE API opened up so we can write integration plugins for appservers other than weblogic? Or making the weblogic specific sources available so the rest of us can use them as an example? IMHO this would be rather important before a 4.0 release. Weblogic isn't THAT dominant that it merits being the only appserver supported (or supportable)

+1

WebLogic is also expensive as hell, and products like JBoss, Orion and
Resin EE are as good if not better.

I'd +1 this one, too. Is this a tracker request yet, so we can vote on it?

We're doing work with Objectweb's Jonas, esp now that it's in both SuSE's and RH's enterprise offerings. I'd help write the integration for this server...
