My company is interested in using idea, however, the manager is unwillig to make the move without webligic support. Do any know when a version of idea that supports weblogic will be released.

I asked the same question back in March and was told that this feature was already in the Aurora release, but I've never been able to find it?

...flame on...

I'd also really like to see a well written guide on how to tie in with other app servers...the standard answer seems to be..."look at the source code for the Tomcat server and write your own". Guess what? If I take the time to write my own app server plugin(s), I will never have the time to get my real work done.

With such a cool IDE, you'd think that the folks that produce this product would be eager to actually enable more folks to be able to debug webapps and to "easily" configure IntelliJ to remotely debug code running on app servers. I have not found either of these to be the case.

Sometimes I really wonder if software vendors are paying attention to their users?

For what it's worth...lots of folks are saying really good things about Eclipse these days...it's wonderful having multiple vendors of development tools.

...flame off...

I hate to be one of those people that simply answers me too.

However in this case "me too"

Weblogic jsp support would be so useful to us.

Dumb question, what do you guys mean when you ask for "support"?

I thought you could attach remotely and debug right now?

I haven't tried with WebLogic, only with JBoss, but it seems to work fine...

Yes, I've done that with Weblogic all the way since Ariadne, but I think
they want even more integrated support. For instance, I don't know if
you can debug a JSP page. Maybe they also want some way to deploy from
within IDEA?

Our upcoming Weblogic support will cover
development/building/deployment/debugging of J2EE aplications/modules
running on Weblogic. Modules will include webapps and EJBs (Entity, Session
and Message-Driven). There will be no support for resource adaptors
initially. Please allow a few more weeks for the weblogic support to go out
to EAP.

Which versions of Weblogic are you expecting to support, or does that not matter? I ask because I am just starting work on a project using Weblogic 8.1.

WebLogic 7.x and 8.x will be supported first, then 6.x is planned
