********* Compiling JSPs ***********

Hi,

I can compile my JSP's no problem but the problem is that they get sent to my user directory on my computer and when the "make" is finished they are deleted. I am using JBoss so it would be pretty handy to keep these and add these to my .ear/.war file to speed up the initial page rendering. How do I stop Intellij from deleting the files when it is done debugging and instead put them in a specified directory? I can't seem to find this.

thanks

Jordan

p.s. I am using Intellij 3.02 and I have set up the web app support properly (I think >:O)

The feature actually does JSP validation, so the result does not matter. What matters is whether there were any errors.

I want the resulting class files from the build to package up into my war file so that everything runs a bit faster. Any ideas?

And just reiterating, if I have all of my class files then evry "first hit" to any given jsp will be much faster as there is no compilation process. Much better in a production enviornment as there is no painfully slow .jsp to .java conversion and then compile process.

cheers

Not sure you'll be able to run compiled code in app servers other than Tomcat. Other app serves may provide alternative JSP
compilers that compile directly to bytecode and insert extended debug info (like JRun) or generate servlets in terms of their own
library calls etc.
Anyway, what you are requesting is a separate feature and I think it is app. server-specific.

yes it is. Weblogic for instance comes with it's own jsp-compiler.
