.jar is just a Java file and yes, that is what you will use for the plugin installation, regardless of OS.

Hi there,

1) All plugins available on plugin site (the URL you gave) are available via "Settings | Plugins | Browse repositories..." button (as long as they are compatible with your IDE and IDE version)

2) No need to do anything special with .jar files at all, just "Settings | Plugins | Install plugin from disk ..."  (P.S. *.jar is normal zip archive but with different file extension -- any archive manager can open .jar files if necessary (WinRAR, 7zip, WinZIP etc))

That button that I showed is all you need - that installs the .jar file.
