Javascript file locked on library

Hi

I would like to know why the js files are locked when they are in "the external library"
because i need to modify my personnal library.

Hi,

Because they are in External Library, which is not meant to be modified -- to prevent accidental modification (External Libraries supposed to be used for inclusion of 3rd party libraries).

If you need to add external files/folders and you need to modify them -- better add it via additional Content Root (Settings | Directories)

PS :  But why my personnal PHP library is not locked then ?

Don't know. You are not the first who noticed it .. and so far I saw no anwser for this moment.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think before (in v4 or v5 EAP builds) they were actually marked as read-only (PHP files), but possibly it later was removed for whatever reason.

Ok ty for your reply ;)

PS :

It's not for the same problem but now you have gave me a partial solution for a feature that i would like.
I noticed this here

Just one thing missing :  able to rename or to give a name, like i would like in the explorer. ^^

Please describe how it needs to work (directory structure) -- e.g. how it is done in Eclipse. Screenshots are extremely welcome.

Maybe you can acheive this by using symbolic links on file system (not exactly the same, but very close, I think).

Yes i resolved the problem with symlink directly on system but it's not really the best practice.
I think it's at software to do that.

This screenshots are good for you ?

Yes, thanks. I understand now what you have tried to do.

I personally think that symbolic link is perfectly fine solution here -- using it myself to solve similar kind if things. Works perfectly so far and supported on all modern oeprating systems.

Maybe support directly by IDE will be good, but it is fine as is for me as it reflects deployed status as well (deployed version also uses symlinks).

maybe you are right for this example (but you haven't other choice with your software). ^^

With more complexity tree ("virtual" directory with inside many link) it will more difficult.
it's really a similar of favorites functionnality (+ rename) with "additional Content Root".
