History is Empty - Local History Problem

Unfortunately, I looked at my power strip the wrong way and my desktop shut off.

I was in the middle of editing a file, hadn't saved it for a few hours with GIT, but I had gone in and out of PHP storm while debugging so the file was saved many time.  

When I turned the power back on, the file was empty.   I remembered reading something about Local History.  Unfortunately, for this particular file, the history was also empty.

Other files, which did not get trashed, had full histories over the whole day.

I resurrected the changes, but it's a litte worrisome going forward.

Any ideas?
