synchron local server and internet server

Hello !

Sorry for my bad english.
In my next life I'm learning English. ;)
I have begun to test the "PhpStorm" editor.
I develop my scripts on my local pc.
I use the development enviroment xampp from www.apachefriends.org.

I have a vision.
I will write the php scripts on my local computer.
And i will test this scripts on my local computer.
So far I've loaded the scripts in the evening hours on the web server via FTP.

Is there a better way.
I am looking for a way to automatically load files and directories on the web server.
I would like to load all changed files automatically to the web server.

I need a little example.

Who can help ?

Your sincerly

Stephan

Hello Stephan,

Please check out our scrrencast: http://tv.jetbrains.net/videocontent/working-with-web-projects-via-ftp. As shown in the video, 'Upload changed files automatically' option helps you to send your files to FTP server when you save them (saving is done automatically when you e.g. switch to another application window).

Kirill

Hello !

I have found a way to see the 'Remote Host' panel.
Under Tools -> Deployment -> Browse Remote Host is the panel.
It works fine.

And now the big question.
In the video i have seen same steps of working.
The first step is to download the files from the remote server
to the local server.

And here is my problem.
I have started to develop my scripts on my local server.
I need a way at first to synchron my local server mit the remote server.

Can you help ?

Hi Stephan,

1) File | Settings | Deployment -- make sure that you have your FTP server marked as Default
2) File | Settings | Deployment | Options -- tick the checkboxes for "Upload changed files automatically to the default server" and "Upload external changes". Also check other settings on this page to configure deployment to your needs.

The above will tell PhpStorm to upload all changed files to your server when you save the file locally.

If you need to manually upload any file from your PC to remote server -- just right click and choose "Upload to ..."

Hello Stephan,

If you're starting with local files, please do the following.
1. Open Main menu | Tools | Deployment | Configuration page. Click '+' and specify your FTP server parameters there. Don't forget server root URL.
2. Then click Mappings tab and specify the server path to upload your files to.
3. Then enable Tools | Deployment | Automatic Upload option in Main menu.

Hello !

I have successfull test the sync between the local server and the internet server.
It's so great !
I like this program. It's for the daily work better then zend studio.

In the moment i look for a ignore list.
I work with the zend framework.
I will not sync same files.
For example the ' .../application/configs/application.ini '.

How can i ignore this file by the sync between the local server and the internet server ?
