Connection to PostgreSQL - postgres@xxx-yyy1 failed

I'm able to connect to localhost instance of PostgreSQL, but -all- remote PostgreSQL connections fail. All the remote connections work from pgAdmin III with same settings. I'm connecting with plain username+password. Error message below

"Connection to PostgreSQL - postgres@xxx-yyy1 failed
Connection to xxx-yyy1:5432 refused. Check that the hostname and port are correct and that the postmaster is accepting TCP/IP connections"

Exact same settings work with pgAdmin III, so I'm assuming this is a bug. Any way to fix this?

Hello Jeremias,

>Connection to xxx-yyy1:5432 refused

Error says that DataGrip is unable to connect to specified host:port. Do you have proxies in the network? If so, make sure it is configured in DataGrip settings. Try doing telnet to the host and port where remote database is running and see that it connects.

Please attach screenshots of connection settings (General and SSH/SSL tabs) and idea.log after restarting DataGrip and trying to connect.

Hello Andrey,

Telnet works and there is no proxy between. The issue seems to be that DataGrip does not work with IPv6 and only with IPv4. This is very unfortunate. Are you planning to add support for IPv6? pgAdmin III works perfectly with IPv6.

Indeed there is no yet support for IPv6-only connections: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/DBE-364 Hope will be fixed soon.
