I wish to open a Python file external to my currently open project (because the file is inside an already existing RubyMine project and opening the same project in both the IDEs seems to produce conflicts).
The only problem is that the external file seems to be inspected with the incorrect Python interpreter.
I have setup my PyCharm project (and even in the default settings) to all use Python 3.5+, but for some reason when I open the external file, it gets inspected with Python 2.
I can confirm this by checking whether the function "xrange" is valid for a file internal to my PyCharm project and the external file.
Is there some setting I have missed to get this right, or is this a bug?
